RED ROCK RANGER STATION

10-2007 to 3-2008

Contract Amount = $8.8M

This project was new construction from the ground level; $1.7M of the budget was for the excavation and paving alone and included rock blasting during the site excavation and during trenching for the site utilities.

I was involved with this project pretty much from the start although I did miss out on some of the retaining wall construction before I was assigned to it.  For the duration of this project I was a tool bag wearing field superintendent.  I coordinated the survey for all three buildings and laid out all the footings and stems as well.  I self performed most of the footing excavation on all three buildings using a backhoe and a track hoe and supervised, as well as participated in, all the footings, stem walls, and slab on grade work.  I also had the responsibility of the onsite coordination of not only our own work, but the work of all the subcontractors as well as solving most of the issues that arose on a daily basis.  I self performed all the interior masonry work as well as the custom fabrication and installation of all the woodwork, trim, wainscot, chair rail and case work.  The fabrication of the carpentry work was done onsite in a wood shop that I set up in one of the larger rooms of the Office Building.  The cabinets were provided by others and installed by me, those that were not I supervised.  I self performed the installation of the majority of the door frames as well.

All of the site concrete, sidewalk, patios, housekeeping pads, curb and cutter, etc. was self performed by CWC, most of which had my direct supervision and/or participation.

I was reassigned near the end of this project to begin the Rim Rock Hwy 179 project.
